Give your baby the best start with our organic mattress. It’s made from 100% natural materials: coconut fibre, soft sheep’s wool from New Zealand and Australia, and a removable organic cotton cover. This mattress is a smart choice because it brings together comfort, safety, and eco-friendly design.
🌿 Natural and eco-friendly materials
The core of the organic mattress uses coconut fibre, which comes from the husk of coconuts. This part of the nut is often thrown away by the food industry, so using it helps reduce waste. Because of its strong structure, coconut fibre offers firm support and lasts a long time.
We spin the fibres into ropes, press them into open sheets, and then add natural latex from rubber trees. Thanks to this process, the mattress stays both firm and flexible. In addition, the latex is hypoallergenic, fights bacteria, and keeps away dust mites. That’s why it’s perfect for babies with sensitive skin.
On top of that, we add a soft layer of wool from New Zealand and Australia. This wool is warm, breathable, and comes from farms that care about animal welfare. Since wool can control temperature, it keeps your baby cool in summer and warm in winter. You might smell a little lanolin (natural wool wax) at first. However, this gentle scent fades after airing the mattress.

We’ve seen it ourselves with our own kids: nice round heads, healthy growth, and great development. Soft might sound comfier, but science shows that firm and flat is actually better for your baby – and that feels reassuring too.

This mattress was made specifically for the Bednest. The 4 cm thickness isn’t random – it’s carefully chosen. According to safety guidelines, there needs to be enough space between the top of the mattress and the top edge of the Bednest. If the mattress is too thick, that space becomes too small – which experts say is unsafe. Many other mattresses are too tall, but ours fits the Bednest perfectly and safely.

Ik vind het een praktisch en mooi bedje, heb er van genoten dat mijn dochter de eerste 7 maanden vlak langs mij lag te slapen en ik er dus altijd snel bij was als ze wakker werd, waardoor ze het vertrouwen al snel had dat er iemand voor haar was. Ze heeft altijd na het voeden weer direct doorgeslapen kortom ik kan wel zeggen dat dit bedje de beste aankoop is geweest en raad het zeker andere aan. Het enigste nadeel is dat ze nu naar 8 maanden in haar eigen ledikant slaapt en ik haar heel erg mis vond het heerlijk om haar te horen ademen en te zien slapen 🙂 maarja kleine meisjes worden groot….
